We had two technical issues with the room. First, the light bulb in the floor lamp had burned out, which the maintenance team replaced very quickly after we reported the problem. Second, we could not open the in-room safe – and neither could any of the staff members. Apparently, their staff manual did not cover that particular topic. The maintenance staff member on duty over the weekend went so far as to search online for a way to fix the system, but none of the suggested solutions worked. So, advice to management: Check all the in-room safes to determine whether or not they work, and provide training and documentation to your team members on how to help guests when they encounter a problem with the safes.
For the price, the Holiday Inn Express in Alabaster, AL, is an excellent value, and we would recommend it if you’re staying in the area.
The bed had a top-notch mattress, and the pillowcases on each side of the bed were embroidered with “firm” and “soft” to indicate the type of pillow it contained.
Nice, clean rooms, fitness room... but the pool is cold and nasty... I couldn't get in it after my workout, which sucked... ruined my routine... if you don't plan on swimming, it will work for you.
That said, each staff member we encountered was exceptionally friendly and helpful, providing suggestions for local restaurants, ensuring the breakfast stations were filled, and greeting us as we entered and left the hotel.

The room was quite large and nicely decorated. We particularly liked that they had a panel of electrical outlets and USB plugs on each bedside table and the desk, making it easy to use and charge our electronic devices. More hotels need to update their designs so that guests can easily get to electrical outlets!
While visiting friends in nearby Helena, AL, we initially chose the Holiday Inn Express in Alabaster for its location. We were pleasantly surprised by how well the hotel was designed, equipped (with pool and small workout room), and furnished (with very comfortable beds).
Best place to stay if your traveling. We've stayed at Embassy suites and it wasn't half as clean and you couldn't pry a nice attitude or a smile from any employees except housekeeping. I will NEVER stay there again. This place is AMAZING and everyone is very nice. All the competition needs to take a lesson or two from this place. Love it!!

Very nice new motel. Bed was like a cloud. I was in a wreck and only 2 choices, hope it made me smarter.
